Founder and president of Food & Vine, Inc., is an Austrian-born, European-trained chef with extensive experience in the creation and preparation of healthy gourmet food. Valentin came to the United States after more than a decade of working with some of Europe’s finest hotels.

While in Manhattan, Valentin met store designer Nanette Rosenberg (now Humer), and together they discovered their love for grapeseed oil. The versatility, high smoke point, and health benefits of the oil amazed them. Their shared passion for healthy, delicious food and sustainable alternatives for better health led them to California, where they founded Food & Vine Inc. and the Salute Santé! brand in 1994. In 2010, they began producing cold-pressed grapeseed oil and started the production of grapeseed flour.
